About M.A.B. Engineering (The Start) Bugden Firearms had been in business for over ten years before the opportunity arose to purchase "Omark " Australia when that company closed in 1983. The barrel making equipment arrived from Adelaide in February 1984. M.A.B. was a firearms manufacturer first and foremost, but does perform specialised engineering work in many other areas, including military, scientific and education. The manufacture of a wide variety of chrome-moly (blued) and stainless steel button rifled sporting barrels, target barrels, firearms and accessories, including silhouette pistols and rifles, fullbore target rifles and custom professional shooters' rifles, is the main area of activity. A full range of rifle-smithing and engineering services, especially deep hole drilling, is complimented by M.A.B. being the sole Australasian Pacific franchise for Mag-na-Port International and the distributor of several imported lines, including target actions and sights. MAB Engineering underwent a name change late 2004, now known as Total Solutions Engineering trading as MAB rifle barrels and Mag-Na-Port Australia. Tony Argent has worked for MAB for 17 years and the occasion arose for him to purchase the business from Graham as he wants to retire to the greener pastures of New Zealand. |
