Description

The M.A.B. silhouette pistol was designed following several requests from David Dewsbury, the then-APSUA National Director of Metallic Silhouette. The prototypes were produced in 1991 by modifying Omark M44B rifle actions and the first centre-grip pistol, which was built left handed in 7mmBR, was delivered to David at the Narrabri Steel Challenge in may 1992 on the day of the event. David, in his first shoot ever with an M.A.B. SP.44, proceeded to shoot a possible 40 out of 40 and then shot 5 half-size targets, including 2 chickens, in the shoot-off at 200 yards. He was the first person in Australia ever to record 5 half-size targets at 200 yards in a shoot-off. Since then, M.A.B. has gone on to produce several dozen custom built metallic silhouette pistols which have been exported world-wide. M.A.B. silhouette pistols have won numerous state and national championships and have been used in the three World Championships with considerable success which included several gold medals.

Where at all possible, the stock is produced in an unfinished state and shipped to the purchaser to allow him to fit the stock to his personal position or physique. On return to the factory, the outer skin is replaced with either carbon fibre or kevlar and the stippled epoxy finish applied.

A unique feature is that the transfer bar trigger travels down one side of the action, not in the centre, as do others on the market. This allows for u-shaped bedding to fully support the action on pillar bedding.
